Widget

I put this new widget thing up at the top of the page ("Bookmark") because an announcement said it would bring me more web traffic. But how do you use it? When I mouse-over, everything I click invites me to create a new account, but I can't see how I could use any of them. So I haven't, but maybe I'm missing something. Can anybody tell me if I should bother? Do YOU use it?

In theory the bookmark widget allows you to easily make your page usable by people who use a variety of different social networking and online bookmarking services.

And yes you are correct that you generally need an account to use these sites which in my opinion is one of the annoyances of "Web 2.0" sites: having to create many many separate accounts. Hopefully down the road single-sign-in services such as OpenID will make life easier...

Of course you don't have to actually create any accounts (except the one that I think you had to create to setup that bookmark thing in the first place :) - you just put it there and let other people that have such accounts bookmark, share, annotate, your page if they feel like it!

Thank you. I guess I'll just leave it up there in case anybody else wants to use it.

Well I used it and it worked for me. What are you doing these day?
Hope life is full and happy for you. I hope your writing is going well.
