More on E-Books

Of all these experts gathered by the NYT, only Alan Liu had something to offer that I hadn't thought before. The reactions of horror by other commentators sound like those of other experts 3000 years ago that Liu refers to, that the invention of reading would be the end of civilization. And of course it was, of a kind of civilization, one based on oral culture. And e-books will be the end of another set of cultural habits.
